Introduction to Beekeeping Class

Please join us Saturday, February 25th, at 4 PM, for a free, in-person introductory class on beekeeping.

Spring is just around the corner, and it’s the time of the year to start a bee hive or two. Gilroy Beekeepers Association is excited to offer a free introductory class, covering all the basic information you need to decide if you’d like to embark on your beekeeping adventure. The class will cover:

  • Bee hives
  • Selecting and constructing a hive location
  • Necessary equipment
  • PPE – bee suits and gloves
  • Where and how to get bees
  • How to install the bees in your hives
  • Budget

Register Your Bees!

Please register your hives with Santa Clara County. If your hives are registered, it will help prevent pesticide application near your hives.

If you registered your bees with Santa Clara County last year, you should have received a form to submit your Apiary Products harvest information from last year. You can find a copy of the form here.
